Hooters!
So, last weekend, I convinced two friends to accompany me to the Cyndi Lauper, "Decades Rock Live" taping for VH1 at the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. Ms. Cyndi was there in all of her stoned and foul mouthed splendor, accompanied by Ani DiFranco (Yay!), Scott Weiland (should have stayed on the drugs), Pat Moynihan (of Train), Shaggy (ONE TIME) and THE HOOTERS. Apparently, the Hooters have a TREMENDOUS following in these parts. People were wearing Hooters tee shirts, screaming, and dancing their khaki pants-ed butts off!! But the real star of the evening was...
SHAGGY!! He was all pimped out in a back suit with white sneakers, and let me tell you, the ladies LOVED him. I had no idea that he was so big in the suburban mom set. Four women sitting two rows ahead of us, away from the kids, and out on the town, were getting BOMBED. They freaked out when Shaggy appeared. One of the women, in her vodka-induced haze, began shouting, "TAKE OFF YOUR PANTS" to Shaggy. She continued to yell this to any member of the male persuasion who set foot on the stage. She was also very fond of Scott Weiland's extremely tight Mick Jagger-style black leather pants. Anyway, Cyndi put on a hell of a show, and it was a very entertaining evening.
We stayed at a Super 8, and parked here:
After a terrible night's sleep, N and I headed off to Philly to my version of Mecca. A vegan restaurant with "cheesesteaks", cannolis, and lots and lots of cake!Philly:

We got to Gianna's Grille ...
and ate the left side of the menu. Vegan cheesesteak, BBQ chicken cheesesteak, and vegan cheese fries. I brought home a confetti cannoli and slice of chocolate covered strawberry layer cake that I ate over the course of the next day and a half. After all that eating, N and I went for a nature walk the next morning.
And look who we ran into in the woods!
Needless to say, there was little to no knitting. But I did make this during the week, inspired by Jae.
